Why knock on my door?
Ten years ago I had a poor perception of atheists, thinking they were angry, socially awkward, and longing to live a life of sin. But then two of my closest friends revealed to me they were no longer believers. In a one-year journey to prove them wrong, I accidentally deconstructed my own Christian faith.
This was a painful yet enlightening journey. One that still places my career at risk. One that required me to come to terms with the death of a loved one without the belief in an afterlife far sooner than I expected. Yet, just as I would declare when a Christian: “It doesn’t matter what you want to be true, what matters is what is true.” And fortunately, after several years at the bottom of the valley, I’ve discovered you can find tremendous peace and joy in a world without God.
Here's what I hope you get out of this newsletter:
If you're a Christian: I aim to give you insights into the true and unfiltered reasons why someone becomes an atheist. If you can find legitimate evidence to refute these ideas, please share! If God exists, I want to follow him — as do many atheists.
If you're questioning: I want to give you hope and tools for the journey of deconstructing your worldview. I hope to encourage you as you commit to pursuing truth over tradition.
If you're an atheist: You may be looking for content to reconfirm your current beliefs, to find joy or deal with grief as a non-believer, or to find healthy ways to engage with evangelical Christians. I hope this content will be helpful.
Our goal is to build a community of thoughtful believers and non-believers who are comfortable asking hard questions and who want to learn how to find peace, joy, and happiness beyond religion. Join us as we pursue truth over tradition.
